A man called 9-1-1 and said that he was on a Greyhound bus and that someone had taken the bus passengers hostage.
It happened New Years Day morning just after 2 a.m. along the county line on route 23 in Ross County. Deputies with Ross and Pickaway counties, the Highway Patrol, and Chillicothe Police responded to the situation.

According to police, a “victim” called for help saying two men and a woman were holding nearly 30 passengers at gunpoint while the bus was still traveling. Law enforcement eventually pulled the bus over and approached it in SWAT formation with their guns drawn.
Once on the bus, police were able to defuse the situation. One person was taken into custody and the bus was sent on its way.
