FRANKFORT, Kentucky — Kentucky health officials are investigating potential measles exposures linked to a popular religious tourist attraction in Grant County, according to a statement released this week.
Officials said an unvaccinated, out‑of‑state traveler stayed at the Holiday Inn & Suites in Dry Ridge from Dec. 28 to 30, 2025, and visited the Ark Encounter on Dec. 29. Health authorities warned that anyone who was at either location during those times may have been exposed.

Measles is a highly contagious respiratory virus that can lead to serious complications, particularly in young children, the statement said. Officials emphasized that vaccination remains the best protection against the disease, noting that immunization is provided through the measles, mumps, and rubella (MMR) vaccine.
State health departments are urging residents who may have been exposed to monitor for symptoms and contact a healthcare provider if they develop signs of illness.
