WASHINGTON COURT HOUSE, Ohio — A free concert will be held at St. Colman Parish Center on Sunday, September 22, 2024, at 3:00 PM to celebrate the donation of a Yamaha 5’8″ studio grand piano to the facility. The Parish Center is located at 219 South North Street, Washington Court House, Ohio 43160.

The concert will feature performances by Craig Jaynes, Music Director at St. Colman Church, along with Delma Rouleau, former Director of St. Mary Church in Chillicothe; Jeanne Rosendahl, former Choral Director at Washington City High School; Maretta Alden, a professional musician with Elegant Entertainment; and Stephen Estep, a professional pianist and accompanist. The program will include a selection of piano duets by composers such as Bach, Chopin, Mozart, and others, lasting approximately one hour.

The new piano, a gift from Mrs. Linda Litter of Chillicothe in memory of her late husband Robert Litter, a prominent community member in Chillicothe, replaces the previous piano from St. Mary Parish. This donation is expected to enhance the Parish Center’s capacity to host a variety of musical events, including solo and multi-player piano programs, chamber music, and small-scale theatrical productions.

Craig Jaynes expressed enthusiasm about the new instrument, noting that it will significantly expand the center’s cultural offerings and support future community-based musical initiatives. Additionally, funding for the piano’s maintenance has been provided by local parishioners.

Free parking is available in the church lot and on the street.
