CHILLICOTHE, Ohio — The Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) has announced its National Drug Takeback Day, scheduled for this Saturday, April 27, 2024. The event will take place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Ross-Chillicothe Law Complex, located at 28 N. Paint Street.
This initiative provides residents with an opportunity to safely dispose of their old prescriptions. The Ross County Sheriff’s Office has emphasized that no identification is required and no questions will be asked, ensuring the process is as straightforward and anonymous as possible.
Residents are encouraged to drop off old prescriptions, non-prescriptions, e-cigarettes, vaping devices, and both legal and illegal drugs. The event is designed to help reduce the risk of these substances being misused or causing harm.
The DEA’s National Drug Takeback Day is part of a broader effort to combat drug abuse and addiction, providing a safe, convenient, and responsible means of disposing of prescription drugs. The service is free and open to everyone.
