The Pike County Sheriff and a team of volunteers, along with other area organizations, worked together Monday afternoon to remove dozens of dogs from a Pike County home.
According to Sheriff Charles S. Reader, the Fayette County Humane Society, Ross County Humane Society, and Pike Pet Pals assisted his office and the Pike County Dog Warden in the removal of approximately 52 dogs. The Sheriff said the dogs were voluntarily surrendered in an “owner relinquishment.”
“These dogs will be sent to rescues to be vetted, groomed, and put up for adoption to loving homes,” the Sheriff said. “We thank each and every one of you for your commitment and care of these loving animals.”
