ROSS COUNTY, Ohio — The Ross County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to Zane Trace High School on Friday around 9:00 a.m. after reports of threats made against students.
Sheriff’s deputies said Zane Trace principal Tyler Wertman received an email indicating a student had made threats to “shoot other students.”
The email was provided to deputies by Wertman.
According to authorities, Wertman expressed that he did not think there was any danger.
“I am the person who requested a deputy Sheriff to come to the school as soon as I was notified of this incident,” Wertman told the Guardian. “My statement that there was no danger occurred after the deputy and I met with all students involved and filed the report.”
Officials say a report was taken, but have not provided further details regarding the circumstances surrounding the email.
The incident remains under investigation.
