CHILLICOTHE, Ohio — Chillicothe City Council will meet in regular session this evening. Here are some of the items listed on tonight’s agenda:
Tonight will be the third reading of two proposed ordinances. The first asks for the appropriation of $4,000 toward purchasing a credit card machine and monthly service fees for the remainder of 2022. The second third reading will be about the very controversial question of whether chickens and other livestock are allowed within city limits. Over the last few months, members of the community have stood in council chambers to voice their support or opposition to the proposed “livestock ban.” Many people who are against the ordinance say that most of the time, the animals in question are used for 4-H projects.
This evening will also be the first reading of an ordinance appropriating $150,000 toward the continued sewer repairs around Watt and East Water Streets. The needed repairs came after a giant sinkhole formed along East Water Street on the city’s east side.
Additional ordinances for this evening can be found below.
