PIKE COUNTY, Ohio — Pictures have been released of a crash involving a Pike County deputy.
It happened on December 4.

The responding deputy, who was activating lights and siren, attempted to pass a motorist and was struck by the motorist.”
Evans, in a statement on socials media, said, “I would like to thank the many Western citizens who came to the scene to aid the motorist and my deputy to free him from his vehicle. I would also like to thank Waverly and Piketon Police Department, Benton and Pebble Township Fire Department Twp. Fire Department, MedCare, and the Ohio State Highway Patrol for their assistance. I would like to stress with all motorists to always be aware of your surroundings, frequently view your mirrors, and avoid distractions while driving!”
No one was seriously injured in the collision.
