POMEROY, Ohio — On February 20, Meigs County Deputies were kept on their toes responding to a multitude of calls across the county. From domestic violence incidents to traffic stops and juvenile complaints, law enforcement remained vigilant in addressing community concerns. Here’s a detailed breakdown of the day’s events:
At 2:19 AM, deputies rushed to N 2nd Ave in Middleport in response to a domestic violence report. Kadience Tanner was apprehended and transported to the Gallia County Jail, facing charges of domestic violence.
Around 1:11 PM, authorities attended to a report of a protection order violation on Minersville Rd in Racine.
Shortly after, at 1:17 PM, deputies investigated a complaint of disturbance at a residence on Whites Hill Rd in Rutland. Thankfully, after dialogue with both parties, it was determined to be a civil issue, and the situation was peacefully resolved.
By 2:16 PM, deputies were addressing another complaint, this time of threats on Pomeroy Pike in Pomeroy. Thankfully, swift action by law enforcement led to the resolution of the situation.
Later in the day, around 4:17 PM, authorities patrolled Nu Beginning Rd in Portland following reports of a suspicious vehicle. However, no contact was made with any vehicle matching the provided description.
At 4:52 PM, another report of threats, this time on Whites Hill Rd in Rutland, necessitated law enforcement intervention.
Around 4:58 PM, deputies located a suspicious vehicle on Great Bend Rd in Portland, determining everything to be in order upon inspection.
During a routine traffic stop at 6:08 PM on Beech Grove Rd near Molden Rd in Rutland, driver Matthew Pierce was cited for a fictitious license plate.
Soon after, at 6:10 PM, a juvenile complaint on Pomeroy Pike in Pomeroy was promptly addressed by authorities, resulting in the resolution of the situation.
Approaching the evening, at 6:57 PM, a traffic stop on Noble Summit Rd in Middleport resulted in a verbal warning issued for improper license plate display.
At 7:30 PM, another traffic stop on Main St in Rutland saw a driver receiving a verbal warning for speeding.
Deputies were called back to Pomeroy Pike in Pomeroy twice more, at 7:32 PM and 11:15 PM, to address separate juvenile complaints. While the first incident was resolved on-site, the latter led to the juvenile being taken into custody and transported to the Ross County Juvenile Detention Center.
