POMEROY, Ohio — Yesterday, on February 27th, 2024, Meigs County Deputies were kept busy responding to a series of incidents across the county. Here’s a breakdown of their activities:
At 12:15 PM, deputies responded to a complaint about a disturbance caused by a female on Whites Hill Rd in Rutland. Upon arrival, they located the individual and transported her to Holzer Meigs ER for evaluation. The situation was resolved without further incident.
Later, at 3:30 PM, deputies conducted a warrant service on SR 124 in Portland, resulting in the arrest of James Brannon, who was wanted through Meigs County Court. Brannon was taken into custody and transported to Middleport Jail.
At 4:13 PM, deputies investigated a complaint of a protection order violation on SR 681 in Albany. After speaking with both parties involved, it was determined that no violation had occurred, and the matter was resolved.
Efforts to locate a female, in cooperation with the Adult Parole Authority, on Rose Hill Rd in Pomeroy at 5:25 PM proved unsuccessful.
A traffic stop was conducted at 5:39 PM on Oak Grove Rd in Racine, resulting in Kent Varney being cited for driving under suspension and an expired registration.
Later, at 6:30 PM, deputies responded to a complaint of a disturbance involving a male and female on Laurel Cliff Rd in Pomeroy. After speaking with all parties involved, deputies successfully resolved the situation.
Finally, at 6:32 PM, a traffic stop was conducted on US 33 near Morning Star Rd in Racine. Jaden Proffitt was cited for speeding, while Devon Cundiff was cited for speeding and driving under suspension. A valid driver collected Cundiff’s vehicle.
