MEIGS COUNTY, Ohio – On March 11, 2024, deputies from the Meigs County Sheriff’s Office responded to a series of incidents across the county, according to the department’s police blotter.
The day began with a report of a suspicious vehicle on Bearwallow Road near Bearwallow Ridge Road in Shade at 3:36 a.m. Deputies located the vehicle and spoke with the occupant, determining that everything was in order.
At 10:37 a.m., deputies responded to a panic alarm on Main Street in Rutland. However, they were called off en route after making contact with the caller and confirming that everything was okay.
At 11:16 a.m., deputies took a report for a theft on Edmundson Road in Vinton. The details of the theft have not been disclosed.
At 1:05 p.m., deputies assisted Meigs County EMS with a deceased person on McCumber Road in Langsville. Upon arrival, deputies secured the scene and collected narcotics-related items as evidence.
At 1:45 p.m., deputies responded to a domestic violence report on Dexter Road in Rutland. Upon arrival, deputies located a juvenile male and spoke with his guardians. The guardians advised that they did not want to press charges, and the situation was resolved.
At 5:18 p.m., deputies investigated a complaint of threats on King Ridge Road in Pomeroy. After speaking with the caller and neighbors, deputies determined that the situation was resolved.
At 7:06 p.m., deputies were involved in a pursuit on Myers Road in Pomeroy. One male fled the scene on foot, while a female identified as Dena Stanley was taken into custody on charges of resisting arrest and receiving stolen property. She was transported to the Middleport Jail. Deputies located possible narcotics in the vehicle, which were collected as evidence. A tow company was requested to collect the vehicle.
At 8:30 p.m., deputies took a report for threats and harassment on Cave Street in Pomeroy. The details of the threats have not been disclosed.
Finally, at 9:32 p.m., deputies conducted a traffic stop on SR 124 near Blind Hollow Road in Racine. The driver was issued a verbal warning for a vehicle defect.
