CHILLICOTHE, Ohio — Firefighters were dispatched to Applegate Apartments on Western Avenue in Chillicothe this morning after a fire rekindled at the complex. This comes after flames damaged units and the apartment office on Monday.
Fire crews from Scioto Township, Union Township, and the VA Fire Department assisted in the response.
According to preliminary reports from the Ross County Sheriff’s Office, the investigation into the blaze is ongoing. As of this report, authorities have not ruled out arson as the cause.
No serious injuries were reported in the fire.
Residents at the complex told the Guardian that at least one family had been displaced because of the fire. The local chapter of the Red Cross was also on the scene Monday to assist tenants who lost their apartments and belongings in the fire.
