CHILLICOTHE, Ohio — After facing community opposition to building a mental health facility on the east side of Chillicothe, the Paint Valley Alcohol, Drug Addiction, and Mental Health (ADAMH) Board has announced the purchase of a new property just north of Ohio’s first capital.
The Paint Valley ADAMH Board has acquired a parcel of land on County Road 550, adjacent to the former Glassburn’s Pottery Store. This location offers access to Route 35, Pleasant Valley Road, and County Road 550. It is also within walking distance of the Pioneer School.
In a recent social media post, the board announced that an informational meeting will be held on August 22nd from 5:30 PM to 6:30 PM at the Pioneer School, located at 11268 County Road 550.
The new facility is planned to provide critical crisis services for those in need, addressing an important gap in the region’s mental health care infrastructure.
