ATHENS, Ohio — The Athens Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol, in collaboration with the Athens Police Department and the Athens County Sheriff’s Office, will be holding an OVI checkpoint this week to prevent and stop impaired driving.
The county where the checkpoint will occur will be announced the day before, and the exact location will be revealed on the morning of the checkpoint.
If you plan to drink, please arrange for a designated driver or make other travel plans in advance. Don’t risk lives by driving under the influence.
Local law enforcement and safety partners will provide operational support for the sobriety checkpoint.
