SOUTH BLOOMFIELD, Ohio — South Bloomfield police are asking residents in the Bloomfield Hills neighborhood to check their home security camera systems for footage that could help identify suspects in a string of vehicle break-ins reported early Monday.
The break-ins occurred around 2:30 a.m. Monday, according to the South Bloomfield Police Department. Officers did not say in a Facebook post how many vehicles were targeted in the neighborhood or what, if anything, was taken.
South Bloomfield, a village of roughly 2,600 residents in Pickaway County, has been among the fastest-growing communities in central Ohio over the past two decades, with new subdivisions such as Bloomfield Hills expanding the village’s footprint. The department has a small force covering the growing village.
Police are asking anyone with photos or video from the overnight hours who lives in or near the area to submit it through the department’s Axon Community Request portal, an online tool law enforcement agencies use to collect evidence submitted by residents in connection with open investigations.
