SOUTH BLOOMFIELD, Ohio — Local children will run the vendor tables and lead a hands-on craft show at the South Bloomfield Summer Market Friday, selling homemade goods and teaching visitors how to make bracelets, keychains and other crafts of their own.

The village said the Kid’s Vendor Market and Kids Craft Show run from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Friday at Marvin Webster Memorial Park, 5010 North St. W., as part of its ongoing summer market series.
Every item for sale — produce, flowers, plants, farm-fresh meat, baked goods, crocheted items, snow cones, lemonade, sports cards, jewelry, homemade crafts, 3D-printed products and original artwork — was grown, raised, baked or created by the young vendors with help from their families, the village said in a Facebook post.
At the craft show, children can make their own bracelets, keychains, crayons, birdhouse wind chimes and slime, the village said in a separate post promoting Friday’s event.
The market will also offer free entertainment for families. Roundtown Radio will provide music, Shimmer Strands will give out free hair tinsel, Ms. Claus will hand out free books, Crafting with Criss will host a free children’s craft, and Hope Grows Now will make balloon animals, according to the village.
There won’t be a food truck set up at the kids’ market itself, but the village said its Tortilla food truck will operate separately at the park that evening, and Down Home Treats will sell iced coffee and “dirty sodas.” The young vendors also plan to sell lemonade and baked goods of their own.
South Bloomfield, a Pickaway County village that had a population of 2,143 at the 2020 census, has built its Summer Market into a recurring warm-weather draw, giving area vendors and, on Friday, children a venue to sell directly to the community.
