LYNCHBURG, Ohio — The Lynchburg Area Joint Fire & Ambulance District will host a free “Water Day” open house Saturday, giving families a chance to cool off, meet the district’s volunteer crews and get an up-close look at its fire trucks.
The event runs from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. July 25 at Lynchburg Old School Park, located at the corner of Pearl and Sycamore streets across from the Lynchburg-Clay Local Schools board of education office. The district said the event is weather dependent.
“Come have some fun in the sun with our crews,” the district said in a Facebook post announcing the event, inviting families to splash in the water and meet its members.
The Lynchburg Area Joint Fire & Ambulance District runs out of two stations, including its main house at 8123 State Route 135, and provides fire protection, emergency medical response, vehicle-crash response and hazardous materials response to Dodson, Salem, Union and Hamer townships and the village of Lynchburg. The village, platted in 1830 and named for Lynchburg, Virginia, straddles the Highland-Clinton county line and had a population of about 1,510 as of the 2020 census.
