COLUMBUS, Ohio — Former President Donald Trump endorsed Ohio Auditor of State Keith Faber’s bid for Ohio attorney general in a Truth Social post Tuesday, calling Faber an “America First Patriot” with “the Courage and Wisdom” to serve as the state’s top law enforcement official.
Trump said in the post that Faber, as attorney general, would work to “Ensure LAW AND ORDER, Champion our Law Enforcement and First Responders, Support our Brave Military/Veterans, Advance Election Integrity, Keep our Border SECURE, Stop Migrant Crime, Uphold our Constitution, and Defend our… Second Amendment.” He gave Faber his “Complete and Total Endorsement.”
Faber currently serves as Ohio’s auditor of state, an office he was elected to after terming out of the Ohio Senate, where he served as president. He is seeking the Republican nomination for attorney general in next year’s race.
The office Faber is seeking is currently held by Andy Wilson, whom Gov. Mike DeWine appointed in May after then-Attorney General Dave Yost resigned early to take a position with a conservative legal organization.
Trump’s post had drawn more than 1,100 reshares and 5,100 likes within hours of being published, according to the platform.
