ROSS COUNTY, Ohio — Chad Kuntz of Chillicothe was indicted by a Ross County grand jury for the stabbing death of Gloria Speakman.
Around 1:00am on April 14, police were called to the BP gas station on East Main Street for a single vehicle accident. Upon arrival to the scene officers discovered Speakman with a knife wound to the head.
Reports state that Speakman and Kuntz were involved in altercation in the parking lot of America’s Best Value Inn on East Main Street. According to Ross County Prosecutor Jeff Marks, Speakman attempted to get in a vehicle and drive away from Kuntz. Marks states it was at that time Kuntz produced a knife and threw it through the open car window striking Speakman in the head.
Speakman was later taken to Adena Regional Medical Center where she succumb to her injuries days later.
Kuntz is currently being held in the Ross County Jail.
According to court records, Kuntz has a violent criminal history with charges ranging from felony domestic violence, to aggravated robbery.
