CIRCLEVILLE, Ohio — Sheriff Matthew O. Hafey has welcomed Brooklynn Lowry as the newest corrections officer with the Pickaway County Sheriff’s Office, the agency announced.
Lowry, a 2026 graduate of Teays Valley High School, joins the office’s corrections division, which staffs and runs the Pickaway County Jail. She has said she hopes to one day become a Pickaway County deputy sheriff, according to the sheriff’s office.
Hafey, himself a 1992 graduate of Teays Valley High School, rose to the rank of Eagle Scout before enlisting in the U.S. Navy in 1993, where he served with the Navy’s Presidential Honor Guard in Washington, D.C. He later worked as a communications and jail officer with the Circleville Police Department beginning in 2003, working his way up to sergeant before retiring early in 2019 to run for Pickaway County sheriff. He was elected in 2020.
The sheriff’s office corrections division is responsible for the daily operation of the county jail, including the custody and care of inmates housed there.
