WASHINGTON COURT HOUSE, Ohio — The Fayette County Travel & Tourism Bureau has released its annual countywide guide to trick-or-treat times and Halloween events, with activities running from Oct. 20 through Oct. 31 across Washington Court House, Jeffersonville, Bloomingburg, New Holland and the surrounding townships.
The Washington Court House Fire Department shared the schedule on social media this week, pointing families to a full slate of parties, trunk-or-treats and trick-or-treat nights spread across nearly two weeks.
The schedule begins Oct. 20 with a Halloween party at the Destination Outlet Mall from 5 to 6:30 p.m., featuring trick-or-treating throughout the mall, a “Boo Bash” with free pizza and bounce cards at Launch, face painting at Ann Taylor and LOFT, temporary tattoos at Chico’s, and free chips and salsa at Tacos & Tequila. A pumpkin painting class follows that evening at White Fence Gallery from 6:30 to 8 p.m.
More events follow nearly every day through the rest of the month: a Jack-o-Lantern Jubilee at Washington High School Gym on Oct. 21, trick-or-treat nights at Carriage Court of WCH and Court House Manor on Oct. 22, a trunk-or-treat at Phantom Fireworks in Bloomingburg on Oct. 23, and trunk-or-treats at American Legion Post 25 and in Good Hope on Oct. 24, along with trick-or-treating at the Deer Creek State Park Campground that evening.
Oct. 25 brings a Halloween party at Integrity Gymnastics and a trunk-or-treat at Champion’s Grill at the Greens Golf Course. The following Tuesday, Oct. 27, the Fayette County Family YMCA and Miami Trace Elementary both host trunk-or-treats.
The schedule’s busiest stretch comes in the final days of the month. On Oct. 29, trunk-or-treats and a haunted house are set at Eagles 423, along with trick-or-treat nights in Bloomingburg, Washington Court House and Cedarvale Commons, and a Halloween Bash at Roller Haven Fun Center that includes a separate adults-only session starting at 10 p.m. The Roller Haven parties repeat Oct. 30.
Halloween night itself, Oct. 31, includes a costume contest for pets at Scotty’s 22-Brew from 1 to 4 p.m., trick-or-treat hours in the villages of Jeffersonville and New Holland from 6 to 8 p.m., and evening parties at Mugs & Jugs, Smitty’s Tavern and Eagles 423, along with a Halloween bar crawl through downtown Washington Court House from 5 to 10 p.m.
