CIRCLEVILLE, Ohio — Brenda Short, the administrative assistant to Circleville’s mayor, is marking 10 years with the city, according to a City of Circleville social media post.

Short has worked in the Mayor’s Office since 2016, serving under two mayors — first Don McIlroy, who led the city for 12 years before retiring, and now Michelle Blanton, who was sworn in Dec. 29, 2023, to succeed him.

In the post, the city said Short enjoys working with the mayor and being part of the city team, and that she values the variety the job brings, from meeting residents to getting out into the community.

Outside City Hall, Short volunteers with several community organizations and serves on community boards, the city said. She enjoys reading and spending time with her grandchildren in her free time.

“Thank you, Brenda, for 10 years of dedication to the City of Circleville and our community,” the city said in its post announcing the milestone.
