COLUMBUS, Ohio — Today, the Ohio Democratic Women’s Legislative Caucus announced its endorsement of Nan Whaley for Governor. The Caucus works to support and expand women’s rights in Ohio through legislation and advocacy.
The Ohio Democratic Women’s Legislative Caucus endorsement comes after endorsements from more than 130 local elected officials and leaders across the state, the Industrial Division of the Communications Workers of America (IUE-CWA), and the Ohio Association of Public School Employees (OAPSE/AFSCME Local 4). Nan has also received national endorsements from EMILY’s List and 314 Action Fund.
“Ohio needs a leader who will ensure women all across Ohio have the opportunity to succeed, and Nan has a track record of doing just that. From making high-quality preschool available to every four-year-old in Dayton to providing paid parental leave to all municipal employees, we need her vision and leadership in the Governor’s Office now more than ever,” said Rep. Lisa Sobecki, Chair of the Ohio Democratic Women’s Legislative Caucus. “It’s time we make history in Ohio by electing the first woman governor in our state and that’s why we’re endorsing Nan Whaley for Governor.”
“If we’re going to build an economy for the future that works for everyone, we need a Governor who prioritizes policies that lift everyone up. I’m thrilled to have earned the endorsement of the Ohio Democratic Women’s Legislative Caucus and I know they’ll be an eager partner at the Statehouse in making sure women have a seat at the table,” said Mayor Nan Whaley.
