CHILLICOTHE, Ohio — The name and details have been released in the motorized bicycle accident that has left a man in serious condition.
The crash occurred Tuesday evening along Western Avenue on Cabbage Hill.
Troopers said the bicycle was a motorized Huffy rode by Richard Bailey, 53, Chillicothe. According to reports, he was traveling north on Western Avenue when he struck the curb, causing him to wreck the bike. Despite erroneous reporting by online blogs, the person was not struck by a car.
Bailey was transported to Adena Regional Medical Center with a head-injury and broken arm, according to law enforcement.
Troopers want to remind the public to always wear a helmet, and protective gear while riding, they said.
