ROSS COUNTY, Ohio — Derek Myers, editor of the Scioto Valley Guardian, was rushed to the hospital following a two-car crash on Thursday morning. The accident happened shortly after 10 a.m. along route 35, near the Pleasant Valley Road exit.
According to reports, Myers was driving to an assignment when he was rear-ended by a large RV, sending his vehicle off the road, into the median, and into oncoming traffic on the otherside of the highway.
The impact caused heavy damage to both vehicles, troopers say, and they had to be towed from the scene.
Myers was transported by EMS to Adena Regional Medical Center in stable condition. The driver and passenger of the 45 foot motor coach were not injured.
