CHILLICOTHE, Ohio — Chillicothe Police responded to the area of South Rose Street Thursday evening on reports of a shooting.
Multiple officers responded to the scene where, according to reports, a male victim had suffered a gunshot wound to the leg.
The victim told police that the suspect had shot him with a 9mm handgun.
Officials say the victim would not identify the shooter.
The wounded man was first sent to Adena Regional Medical Center and later transported to Grant Medical Center in Columbus. His current condition was not immediately released.
Chillicothe police say the incident remains under investigation. Anyone with information regarding the shooting should contact the Chillicothe Police Department.
