CHILLICOTHE, Ohio – A teenage girl is recovering after being hit in the head with a brick.
Chillicothe Police responded to Gilmore Street Sunday morning on reports of a large fight at a residence.
Upon arrival, police say, they located a woman holding a pair of scissors and the injured teen in the back of her car.
The woman told officers that she had taken the teen to the residence on Gilmore Street because the girl believed her boyfriend was cheating on her. That’s when, reports say, a large fight broke out.
Reports say, 20-year-old, Jaquon Nesser, came to the door and began arguing with the teen. Nesser, according to witnesses, pushed the teen away from the door, but the verbal altercation continued. Reports say that is when Nesser became violent. Statements obtained by police say Nesser went into the house and then came back outside, picking up a brick, and throwing it through the car’s windshield.
Witness statements said that the teen then pulled a can of mace, spraying Nesser with it. That is when he allegedly grabbed another brick, hitting the girl on the right side of her head. The assault continued, according to the teen, who said Nesser began punching her in the face.
Police spoke with neighbors who stated they had seen the brick attack.
Jaquon Nesser left the residence before officers arrived on the scene. The teen was transported to Adena Regional Medical Center and later to Grant Hospital in Columbus. Her current condition and the extent of any injuries were not immediately released.
Police could not locate Nesser and have submitted the case to the Ross County Prosecutor’s Office for review.
The incident remains under investigation.
