CHILLICOTHE, Ohio — Residents in Chillicothe will notice new benches at area transit stop locations.
According to an online post by the City of Chillicothe, crews have been busy working to install the seats throughout the area.
The benches are part of Chillicothe’s continuing efforts to modernize public transportation and were funded by a grant from AARP.
A spokesperson for the city said that “these benches are a part of a larger project to improve social connections among passengers and make public transit a more attractive option for the community.”
Chillicothe Transit also offers additional services, including:
Fixed Route Bus Service serving the City of Chillicothe, Monday-Friday.
On-Demand is a point-to-point service within the city limits but also includes OH-159 to OH-207 interchange and OH-104 to VA Hospital.
RossGo is a subprogram of CTS, provides non-emergency medical transportation for Medicaid-eligible Ross County residents with trips to the following counties: Athens, Fairfield, Fayette, Franklin, Gallia, Highland, Hocking, Jackson, Licking, Meigs, Perry, Pickaway, Pike, Scioto, Ross, and Vinton.
