CHILLICOTHE, Ohio — The Paint Valley Alcohol, Drug Addiction, and Mental Health (ADAMH) Services Board welcomes journalist, author, and former LA Times reporter Sam Quinones as the keynote speaker for the 4th Annual Recovery Celebration.
The event honors local advocates and behavioral healthcare professionals for their exceptional service.
Quinones is the author of “Dreamland” and “The Least of Us”. Both books chronicle America’s ongoing drug epidemic.
Penny Dehner, executive director of the PVADAMH Board said, “We are extremely honored to have Mr. Sam Quinones as our Keynote speaker for our Recovery Celebration. He has placed a national spotlight on the fight against opiate addiction in southern Ohio. The theme of this year’s Recovery Celebration is Together We Can . . . we are hopeful that Mr. Quinones’ presence will bring our community together to reenergize the recovery movement in southern Ohio.”
The Recovery Celebration will be held Thursday, Sept. 22, at Bell Manor in Chillicothe.
