ROSS COUNTY, Ohio — The Chillicothe Post of the Ohio Highway Patrol presented a Greenfield resident with the “Saved By The Belt” award.
Zachary Harper of Greenfield joined the “Saved By The Belt” club after surviving what, authorities say, could have been a fatal crash along route 138 last October.
“Zachary is a living testimony to the effectiveness of safety belts,” said Sergeant Brown. “Everyone needs to buckle up every trip, every time.”
According to the Ohio Highway Patrol, nearly 600 people were killed last year due to traffic crashes.
“The Saved By The Belt Club is designed to recognize people who have benefited from their decisions to wear safety belts,” said a spokesperson for the patrol.
