Gallia County has confirmed that they have their first positive case of COVID-19.
The news was shared by the local health department on Friday, and will be confirmed by the Ohio Department of Health during a news conference later today.
The health district did not go into detail about the person who is infected, or how they believe they contracted the disease.
The county assured the community not to panic and to continue to limit interactions with others and to wash your hands frequently.
So far, 170 people have tested positive in Ohio with one person dying in Lucas County. So far, no confirmed cases in Fayette, Ross, Pike, Pickaway, or Highland counties.
