COLUMBUS, Ohio – Governor Mike DeWine and Lt. Governor Jon Husted announced today that Ohio residents can now add their driver’s license or state ID to Apple Wallet. This new feature allows Ohioans to use their mobile IDs at select businesses, apps, and TSA security checkpoints, including at John Glenn Columbus International Airport and the Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport.
Ohio also introduced the Ohio Mobile ID Check app, enabling businesses to securely verify customers’ mobile IDs using an iPhone.
“This advancement underscores Ohio’s commitment to innovation and convenience for our residents,” said Governor DeWine. Lt. Governor Husted highlighted it as part of the InnovateOhio initiative to modernize services.
BMV Registrar Charlie Norman noted that these innovations have already saved Ohioans significant time and effort. TSA’s Ohio Federal Security Director Donald Barker emphasized the convenience of mobile IDs for airport security.
