CHILLICOTHE, Ohio — The Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating a single-vehicle fatal crash that occurred Sunday afternoon on US 35 in Ross County.
The crash took place around 2:24 p.m. when a 2008 Pontiac Solstice, traveling westbound, veered off the left side of the roadway, then off the right side, before striking an embankment. The driver, identified as James L. Miller, 78, of Frankfort, Ohio, was pronounced dead at the scene from injuries sustained in the crash.
Multiple agencies assisted at the scene, including the Ross County Sheriff’s Office, the Ross County Coroner’s Office, Scioto Township Fire and EMS, and Union Township Fire and EMS.
One lane of US 35 was closed for approximately three hours following the accident.
The Ohio State Highway Patrol’s Chillicothe Post is continuing its investigation into the crash.
