CHILLICOTHE, Ohio — The Chillicothe Police Department is investigating an alleged robbery involving a juvenile suspect at Yoctangee Park’s skate park.
According to the police report, officers initially responded to a call around 7:21 p.m. on September 13, about a black male carrying a gun and harassing park visitors. Despite a patrol of the area, officers said they did not locate the individual or any witnesses willing to provide statements, and the scene was cleared.
Later that evening, at approximately 8:12 p.m., a local resident reportedly contacted the police department to report that his grandson had been a victim of the alleged robbery. The grandson reported that a person identified only as “Keyshawn” had shown him a gun and forcibly taken his bicycle at the skate park. The suspect was described as a black male with dreadlocks, wearing light-colored jeans and a black shirt. The suspect was reportedly accompanied by another individual at the time of the incident.
The victim’s account, according to the police report, detailed that while he was at the park with his brother, the suspect approached him and asked to ride his bike. When the victim refused, the suspect allegedly revealed a black handgun tucked in his waistband, which prompted the victim to turn away. It was at this moment that the suspect is said to have seized the bike and fled toward Riverside Street. The victim, fearing retaliation or violence, initially hesitated to report the incident but later decided to do so after the suspect did not return the bicycle.
The stolen bike is described as all-black with pink camouflage wheels and gray grips, valued at $500.
Following the report, officers conducted another search for the suspect but were unsuccessful in locating him. Authorities have requested a warrant for the juvenile through the Ross County Juvenile Court for aggravated robbery.
