CHILLICOTHE, Ohio — In response to a surge in thefts targeting Kia and Hyundai vehicles, AAA is hosting a free event today to help local vehicle owners protect their cars.
If you own a Kia or Hyundai manufactured between 2011 and 2022, you can receive a free steering wheel lock from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the AAA branch office located at 141 W. Main St. in Chillicothe. The steering wheel locks, which act as a proven theft deterrent, will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis.
The initiative aims to address a growing concern over vehicle thefts involving these makes and models. Kia and Hyundai vehicles from these production years have been especially vulnerable due to certain design features.
