Pike County Sheriff Charles S. Reader says he and his deputies are looking for a man who stole a gun on Monday.
According to the Sheriff, shortly after 5 p.m. on Memorial Day, a man walked into Bill’s Bait House along route 220 just outside Waverly and stole the handgun.
The unidentified man was recorded on surveillance video reaching over the glass counter, sticking his hand inside the case, and walking away with the firearm.
Security cameras also caught the man driving away in a late-model silver Dodge Charger with black racing strips.
The Sheriff is asking for the public’s help in identifying the man and the car. The owner of the bait shop is offering a $500 reward for positive identification and whereabouts of the man.
Those with information are urged to call Sheriff Reader’s office at (740)
947-2111 and ask to speak with Corporal Beau Romine.
