Severe thunderstorms rocked the area Monday evening causing damages to many homes.
The storm barreled through around 6 p.m. and caused power lines and trees to go down in the area. Pike County was under a tornado watch for nearly a half hour after rotation was detected by radar. No reports of a touchdown were made, according to the Sheriff’s office.
A tree toppled into a house near 1100 route 124 in Pike County near Latham, right along the path of the storm. No serious injuries were reported.
Dozens of other calls flooded dispatch centers in Ross and Pike counties for downed trees and power lines, but so far, no serious injuries have been reported.
