Validated gang members caused a scare for local police Thursday night after a 9-1-1 call reported a gun battle in Ross County
The call came in just after 7:15 p.m. saying that “multiple people” in “three car loads” were involved in a fight on Miller Road with “multiple guns.”
Deputies went racing to the area and requested the assistance of the Ohio Highway Patrol, who sent three troopers.
The 9-1-1 caller reported that two more gang-related cars had the road blocked off.
Deputies arrived on scene, with at least one deputy carrying a rifle. Law enforcement stopped two vehicles in the area and ran license plates and ID cards; inside the cars were approximately 10 people.
After a short time, deputies let the vehicles go. As the cars were pulling away, some inside both cars shouted “400 gang” and threw up hand signs — presumably gang signs — to the Guardian’s cameras.
No arrests were made.
