The Vinton County Sheriff says he arrested a man who is accused of molesting a 9-year-old boy.
Vinton County Sheriff Justice says that Children’s Hospital contacted his office on June 26 saying that they had a young patient — 9-years-old — who had been raped.
Deputies, along with Children Service’s Section of South Central Job and Family Services, investigated and found enough probable cause to arrest Mitch E. Ward, 33, State Route 160 in Vinton. He was was arrested and charged with sexual battery, a felony of the second degree, endangering children, a second degree felony, and gross sexual imposition, a felony of the third degree. A bond hearing is scheduled for Tuesday.
