A bridge replacement project on U.S. Route 50 in Highland County is nearing completion, and the route is now open to traffic.
U.S. 50 has been reopened midway between the communities of Boston and Rainsboro, where it has been closed since mid-June for contractors for the Ohio Department of Transportation to replace the bridge located immediately west of Township Road 251A (Hill Road).
Crews will have minor finishing work to complete during the next couple of weeks; however, traffic will be maintained by flaggers when they’re at work.
The John R. Jurgensen Company was awarded a contract in the amount of $988,668 to replace the bridge, and all work is scheduled to be completed by the end of August.
