A man in Vinton County is behind bars after the Sheriff says the man broke into a home and overdosed in a bedroom.

On Sunday, the Vinton County Sheriff’s Office received a 9-1-1 call saying that a man had broken into a house through a window and was asleep in a bed. When deputies arrived on scene they found Jacob D. Keesee, 35, of McArthur lying in the bed. Deputies shouted commands at Keesee, but he was not moving. Reports say that he was breathing, but unresponsive.

EMS arrived and administered NARCAN, but Keesee remained unresponsive. He was taken by the squad to Holzer Hospital in Jackson. Deputies found a baggy of suspected methamphetamine, needles, and other paraphernalia.

Keesee was released from the hospital several hours later and taken to South Eastern Ohio Regional Jail and charged with burglary, criminal trespass, possession of drugs, and illegal use of drugs.

A bond hearing is scheduled for Tuesday.
