A candidate for Washington Court House City Council once sued the very city is looking to represent.
Public records show that Jason Gilmore, who also had city charges of delinquent taxes in 2012 and 2013, sued the City of Washington Court House in 2017 over the dispute of a catering contract at the country club. He said in the suit that a contract was violated between him and the county to open a restaurant at the local golf course.
Gilmore stated the country club awarded him the contract to open a restaurant at the golf course on Highland Avenue but the city then violated the contract by not making repairs and other changes to the building so that the restaurant could open. The suit was ultimately dismissed by a Fayette County judge, and Gilmore’s suit was tossed.
Calls to Jason Gilmore were not returned.
