A longtime car dealership in Washington Court House has a new owner.
Gusweiler Chevrolet, Buick, GMC, and Cadillac, of Highland Avenue (route 41) is now named “SVG Chevrolet, Buick, GMC, and Cadillac.” The SVG stands for Steve Vangorder, a dealer magnate who owns several dealership in the Dayton area.
This biography was pulled from Vangorder’s website:
Steve VanGorder, Owner and President of the SVG Motors Auto Group, is known for his funny, high-energy television commercials. What most people don’t realize is that behind those sometimes silly commercials beats the heart of an inspirational leader and philanthropist.
As the son of a Senior Master Sergeant in the United States Air Force, Steve has traveled the world and is a native Spanish speaker as his mother is from Spain. He’s lived in Florida, Spain, Germany, Japan, North Carolina, and Idaho (where he graduated from high school).
After high school, Steve tried his hand at selling apparel but found his passion was for selling cars. He spent 20 years at Jeff Schmidt Auto Group as their Vice President but made the daunting decision to break out on his own in 2013.
Since opening his first dealership in Vandalia, Ohio, Steve has accomplished amazing growth by opening 4 additional dealerships in Eaton, Dayton, Greenville, Urbana, and a soon-to-be-open dealership in Beavercreek. His success can be attributed to his positive outlook on life and by giving back to the communities in which he does business.
In his spare time, Steve enjoys exercise, reading self-help books, and playing with dogs.
