ORIGINAL STORY:
Power companies in several counties are reporting outages on this blustery cold night.
While temperatures plummet below freezing overnight, Dayton, Power, and Light report that nearly 400 customers are without power in Fayette County.
South Central Power says they have customers without power in numerous counties, including 250 in Pickaway, 300 in Ross, and four in Pike County. AEP says they have 9 customers without power in Ross County.
All three power companies say they do not know when the power will be restored. DP&L said the outages in Fayette County started at around 1:30 p.m. on Thursday.
Thousands of others are without power in contiguous counties, as well. AEP said they had a total of 9,273, while DP&L said their total was 5,449.
Wind is the culprit, according to officials, which was clocking in at nearly 30 miles per hour at 9 p.m.
