The Guardian was the first to tell you that firefighters were battling a fire on Falls Road in Bainbridge Thursday night. We’re now learning more about the blaze.

According to a local non-profit, one of their volunteers, DJ Krivak, lost a barn in the fire. Inside the barn were multiple items, including “wood pellets” the man and his family use to heat their home.

Krivak is a volunteer with J216 Ministries, a local group who helps feed those in need.

“The fire in Bainbridge on Falls Road was DJ Krivak’s barn,” the organization posted online. “DJ is a huge part of our ministry and could use prayer. There was a lot kept in there including four ton of wood pellets that he uses to keep his home heated.”

According to their website, “The mission of J216 Ministry is to seek out families and individuals in our community that are in need of basic necessities and put faith into action by unconditionally providing those necessities. We seek to involve any churches, individuals, or businesses that are interested in improving the quality of life for those in need by distributing food, clothing, and basic toiletry items and facilitating churches and ministries in logistics, acquisition, and distribution of goods directly to the homes of the needy in their own communities.”
