The Ross County Sheriff has released basic information about a man they are looking for in a shooting of a woman.
The shooting happened this morning as the woman was driving down South Bridge Street, the Sheriff said. She was hit by a bullet at around 10:30 a.m. near Cooks Hill Road.
The 62-year-old dialed 9-1-1 and told dispatchers the man who shot her was an African-America who sped away in a “dark four door compact vehicle,” the Sheriff said.
The woman was alive when she was taken to Adena Medical. The Sheriff has not released her name.
The suspect is still on the loose and his name is not known at this time, according to the Sheriff.
