A semi that overturned early Monday morning is causing backups in three counties.
ODOT reports that I-71 Northbound near the 83 milemarker is shutdown after the big rig rolled. That is the same milemarker as the route 56/Mount Sterling exit. Traffic is backed up for miles at a complete standstill in Madison County, which is preventing people from traveling into Franklin County.
As a result of the crash, drivers are using route 62 from Mount Sterling to Harrisburg/Orient as a detour, which is causing bumper-to-bumper traffic at times in Pickaway County.
ODOT does not have an estimated time for when the mess will be cleared.
