A police report says a Washington Court House principal asked a female student to inappropriately touch him.

It all stems from a situation where the mother says her daughter was being sexually assaulted at school by another male student. The girl was called into the principal’s office about the alleged sexual misconduct that occurred with the other student. That’s when school principal Eric Wayne allegedly asked the young girl to “touch his butt in the same manner that [the male student] had done to her.”

The police report said that another male teacher was in the closed door meeting with the female student when the inappropriate touching allegedly happened with Wayne.

The police department did not launch an investigation, and instead, told the mother and the daughter to give the principal “a chance to explain himself” before the police would pursue the matter further, according to the report.

The mother and her daughter allegedly had a meeting with Wayne and school superintendent Tom Bailey on Monday, where it was reported the male student who initially caused the young girl to become uncomfortable would be removed from lunch room; but the school reportedly denied any wrongdoing on behalf of Wayne.

The Guardian reached out to the school district for comment, who sent a written statement.

“The allegations you have mentioned are not an accurate description of the situation,” said district spokesman Trevor Patton. “[The district] is working diligently with the family during this time. As always, the safety and security of our students is our top priority. We will continue to strive to keep WCHCS a safe learning environment for education in our community.”

As of Tuesday afternoon, Wayne was still on the job.
