More than a dozen federal agents have joined in the search for a man wanted in connection to a Pike County murder.
U.S. Marshals descended on rural Pike County Wednesday night. They were joined by Pike County deputies, state troopers, Waverly and Piketon Police, and other law enforcement agencies.
The group served four search warrants in the county in hopes of finding Jon-Erik Burrgraff.
The Guardian was with the agents at all four properties that were raided. Out of an abundance of law enforcement safety and in the name of justice, the Guardian is not naming the locations that were searched or what tactical measures were taken in the raids.
The team of elite members searched the homes and properties and spoke to numerous individuals, with no apparent signs of the man they were hoping to catch.
The Guardian was the first to tell you Monday afternoon that the Sheriff’s office and multiple other agencies were on the scene of a deadly shooting on Johnson Hill Road.
The active scene was in the 300 block of Johnson Hill Road. Pike County Sheriff deputies got a 9-1-1 call that Michael Meadows was shot in the area late-Monday afternoon. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Burrgraff was a person of interest that was quickly identified and was said to have fled the area. An active manhunt was launched and deputies called for help from the Ohio Highway Patrol, who sent a half-a-dozen troopers to the area, including a K-9 unit. Initially, troopers asked for a helicopter to assist, but they were unable to fly due to the weather.
Aerial images showed a blue tent above the scene of the shooting with crime scene tape blocking the driveway.
Wow, that’s what I was searching for, what a information!
