Medics and officers raced to Main Street Thursday afternoon after a 9-1-1 caller said someone was shot.
The call came into dispatchers at around 3 p.m. on Thursday for medics to respond to the 400 block of West Main Street.
Detectives were seen walking into the apartment at Carlisle Crest with evidence collection equipment.
Chillicothe Police Chief Keith Washburn told the Guardian that a man shot himself in the hand. The chief said at this time, all indications point to an accidental discharge, but it is standard operating procedure for a detective to investigate and rule out foul play.
